To serve its clients and grow, every Business needs to get the word out about what it offers. But the more I talk to yoga teachers, the more I realize how much Yoga Marketing is a sticky subject. This stickiness has its roots in two places. The first is the issue of how different people relate to Yoga and the Material World. The second is the notion that yoga students don’t want to think about money. Many see yoga as an opportunity to rise above the material and mundane. Yet if your goal is to be a Professional Yoga Teacher and educator (rather than viewing yoga solely as a spiritual and personal quest) then it would behoove you to treat your teaching as you would any other Professional Endeavor that is Financially Compensated! Having defined your own goals and mission and identified the client group you want to reach, it’s time to consider how you will reach them for Yoga Promotion of your services and talents. A Marketing Plan does not have to be a long, formal document; nor is marketing something you do once and forget about. It is dynamic and needs Regular Planning and implementation.
Creating Your Unique Yoga Brand
Brand is a tough word for yoga teachers (and their critics) to swallow. It sounds unspiritual and very corporate. However, if you think more deeply about it, knowing your Brand is actually quite in line with yoga principles such as self- inquiry, self-knowledge, and authenticity.
