Migraine Headache & Sky Visualization

Usually, periodic attacks of  headaches  on one or both sides of the head. These may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, increased sensitivity of the eyes to light (photophobia), increased sensitivity to sound (phonophobia), dizziness, blurred vision, cognitive disturbances, and other symptoms. Frequent use of Computer and smart phone makes migraine headcache more worse. Sky Visualization is simple and very effective practice to manage Migraine Headache.

Understanding Sky Visualization?

As the wind dissolves itself in the vast sky, in the same way to dissolve our mind completely in the vast beautiful infinite blue sky is sky visualization. Visualization is also commonly used as part of reaching a state of yoga nidra, or deep yogic sleep.

Time of the Practice

Sky Visualization can be practiced either early in the morning or late in the evening.

Readiness and Reminders- Relaxation Pose- Shavasana

  • Stretch yourself out on a thick blanket or mat on the floor.
  • Either close your eyes or keep them slightly open.
  • Help you relax your hips and legs, try letting your heels be about two feet apart. It’s fine to make your own adjustments so that your legs and hips feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Allow your feet and toes to rest out to the sides, and let go.

Practice:

  • Gently open your eyes with a few blinking and try to visualize the beautiful sky.
  • Keep expanding your vision gently in the vast infinite sky.
  • Give some time for expansion.
  • Keep on exploring the blue sky effortlessly.
  • Try to become one with the sky.
  • Enjoy in this expansion state for at least 10 minutes.
  • Then gently close your eyes and visualize the same blue sky with closed eyes.
  • Spend five minutes in this relaxed state.
